DIGIRAD DR-702 developed & manufactured by Nucleonix Systems is essentially a beta-gamma exposure rate meter. This monitor is ideally suited for detection and measurement of both gamma doserates and beta contamination in radioactive laboratories or contaminated areas where radiation fields are encountered.

This monitor with a built in G.M. detector measures dose rate and with an external, end window, halogen quenched G.M. detector probe, it measures Beta contamination. State-of-art electronic circuitry designed around a microcontroller chip to give stable and accurate readings for doserate upto 5R/hr. and contamination upto 50K cpm, on a dot-matrix LCD display.

A miniature built in halogen quenched GM Detector GM130 with external energy compensating filter or its equivalent and an external probe with a halogen quenched GM counter end window type : GM125 having window ˜ 2 mg/cm2 (Auto ranging)
Ranges:

(a) Dose rate in the range of 0-5R/hr or 0-50mSv/h for radiation survey and 0-50000 cpm for contamination survey.

i) Accuracy : within +/-15% of readings

ii) Response time : Less than 2 seconds in Low TC.

iii) Time Constant : Choice of 3 time constants LOW, MED, HI

iv) Aural : Built in piezo buzzer beeps for every detected pulse.
v) Display: Dot matrix LCD display for reading both dose rate/CPM.

vi) Controls : START, STOP, PROG, STORE/RECALL, INC & DEC control buttons provided on the front face of instrument allow the user to program and operate the instrument in different modes.

vii) Data Storage : Storage of readings in built-in EEPROM. Stored Data can be recalled on to the display or transmitted to PC

viii) Serial Port / Data Communication: Built-in serial port facilitates data down loading into PC. Data Communication Software with connecting cable can be provided at extra cost as an additional option.

ix) Power supply : 7.5 volts DC, DURACELL ULTRA or BPL Excell, Size AA, MN1500 LR6 (5 X 1.5Volts), Alkaline cells.
